ENA Suite Hotel Namdaemun

The staff made the hotel for us. Everyone was so welcoming, especially Luna Moon, who was very sweet. The night shift guy walked us through everything carefully at check-in. Really good service. The rooms were comfortable, and the shower was very good. It's a nice hotel in an excellent spot near the metro. We were very happy we stayed here, and it was a great first impression on our first trip to South Korea.

Getting around was easy from ENA suite hotel. City Hall station and bus stops were just a two minute walk away, and there were several restaurants and 7-Elevens nearby for quick food. Myeondong, Lotte Mall, and City Hall were about a 15 minute walk. Reception was fantastic: they stored our luggage, helped plan our itinerary, and were accommodating to what we needed. The TV didn't have streaming services, so expect Korean shows, and there wasn't much closet space. Even so, we had a great stay. Thanks for making our first time in Seoul memorable. Can't wait to return!

The toilet was the only real issue for me. There was a smell when you first went in, maybe from the pipes or toilet, like barbecue or something else. You got used to it, or it went away. The hotel is centrally located, in a quiet part of town, and close to many sights. An adult could technically walk to most attractions. Seoul itself was a nice place to visit, generally quiet and uneventful even with the weekend rallies. The rooms were nice and mostly clean, though there was some dust under the sofa. Sheets were nice and beds comfortable. Staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast choices were limited, but the food was cooked really well: fresh bread and eggs done just right.

The heating ran throughout the building, apparently a thing in Korea, so the AC controls didn't work. It was cold outside, but we had to sleep with the windows open to cool the room. That brought in noise from early morning clattering, which felt mad in late November and wasteful for a hotel promoting its green credentials. Both rooms also had a loose bedside wall light that couldn't be switched from the bed, only from across the room. Pretty silly. We stayed three nights in a deluxe king room, then one in a regular king. There wasn't much difference. The deluxe was on the 16th floor and had a shower over the bath, which isn't great if you have mobility issues. The regular room didn't have a Japanese style hi-tech toilet. The staff were helpful and spoke good English. We left our cases in the lobby twice, once while we went to Gyeongju for a night and once before our evening flight, and they seemed safe there. The location works well for Myeongdong and transit: the Airport Limo bus stops near Park Hotel, City Hall Metro Station and lots of buses are close, and the main railway station isn't too far. There are better placed hotels right in Myeongdong, but they'd no doubt cost more.
