Hotel Peyto Samseong

Getting around was easy, with public transport all over and plenty of nearby food and minimarkets. COEX Mall is right across the street, and the airport limousine bus terminal is close too. I was there for a two-night conference stay. Check-in was simple and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and modern, if just okay overall, and the bed felt a bit small. The bathroom was decent.

The comfortable bed and practical, well-lit workspace made it easy to unwind and get work done after a full day of meetings. My room at Hotel Peyto Samseong was modern, spotless, and thoughtfully laid out. The staff were polite and professional throughout, and both check-in and check-out went smoothly. I was in Seoul for the 3rd meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea, along with the Azerbaijan–Korea Business Forum. Being within walking distance of COEX and the Gangnam business district made getting to everything convenient. I found the stay comfortable and good value, and would happily return.

The location beside a beautiful mall is great, and the hotel itself is nice. Our room was cleaned every other day. Still, a couple of rules made the stay frustrating. At 9:30 one evening, after being out all day, I needed laundry for the next morning. They wouldn’t let me use the machines because they close at 10pm. I also tried to eat my McDonalds food at the big lobby table while working on my laptop. The front desk person firmly, though politely, told me to eat in my room. There isn’t room there to work on my computer, and nobody else was around the lobby table. It felt rude, and I’m writing this while hungry because of that silly rule.

Agoda resolved the issue two days later, but the whole thing felt misleading and unfair. I’d booked this hotel through Agoda about three months earlier, then canceled that same day and immediately made a confirmed reservation at another hotel. After I arrived in Korea, this hotel emailed me and tried to charge my card, though the payment didn’t go through. Agoda Korea still processed a charge despite the cancellation. The hotel kept asking me by email for a new card number, even though I’d already checked in elsewhere that day through Agoda.
