Hyundai Residence Seoul

The building is very old and, after what happened, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There was a blackout on our first night. The next night the circuit breaker was smoking and sparking. Staff initially wanted to wait until morning to deal with it, even after I raised the fire hazard, and I couldn’t sleep knowing the room might catch fire. The prices are cheap, but please put your safety ahead of saving money. They did refund us for that night and paid for a cab to a new hotel, which I had to book at the last minute because of the incident.

Getting in at midnight was fine because the hotel made special arrangements to leave the key for us. They also pick up your trash and towels from a basket outside the door every day and replenish your supplies, which was efficient. The room was a nice size and had a fridge and washing machine. Bus routes nearby connect easily to the subway, and there are plenty of food options around. Many of the shop workers speak English, which helped a lot. I'd stay here again.

We originally hadn’t planned to stay in one place for so long, but after arriving we decided to extend. We were there for 35 nights, from 9/18/2024 to 10/23/2024, during our Seoul vacation. The price was reasonable, the location convenient, customer service was professional and responsive to our requests, and housekeeping was excellent. We were really pleased with the facility and staff, and I’m sure we’ll come back early next year.

We had trouble finding a hotel for a last minute Seoul trip because of the world fireworks festival, and ended up staying here for 2 nights. The beds were very uncomfortable, like box springs, and we could feel each individual pocket spring in both beds. It wasn’t bad in other ways, but I wouldn’t stay again.
