Jamsil Comestay MY - Double bed + Single bed Room

I had a good weekend at Comestay. The beds were very comfortable, and the ondol was turned up high, so everyone stayed warm. My friends and I also really appreciated getting full hotel-size towels. The host says it’s in a residential neighborhood, so you do need to keep quiet. I liked that, since it made it feel like we were living in Korea. Just know that Gangdong-gu Office station is at least a 10-minute walk away, maybe more, which is farther than the host suggests.

The house is comfortable and had enough room for me, though it’s an older place. The entrance is up two flights of stairs, which seems common around there. The shared areas may be used by the owner, their family, or other guests, including the bathroom, so you sometimes need to plan around others. It’s between Gangdong-gu Office and Cheonho MRT stations, about 10 and 15 minutes away on foot. The airport bus goes to Gangdong-gu Office, which is convenient. Even though that station is closer, Cheonho is usually the better one to walk to: it’s closer to town and likely places to visit, and most exits have escalators. It’s also the local town and nightlife center, with lots of shops and food places, even late at night. There’s a small red-light area, but it’s off the main road, so it’s unlikely you’d wander into it by accident. There are food shops nearby, though some basic Korean may be useful. As you’d expect in Korea, there are plenty of coffee shops too. The Han river bank and Olympic Park are fairly close. Google Maps works well, and the house is marked on it.

Great value and a perfect place to stay. The host was really friendly and helpful. The rooms are a little small, though that seems common in Korean hostels.
