Lex Tourist Hotel

Worst hotel ever. There's a club downstairs playing music until dawn. If this is meant to be a tourist rest, people should at least be able to sleep. Extremely disappointing.

The room was a good size for Seoul, and the bathroom was even bigger, so I was happy with my choice. It had working AC, a good sized TV with Netflix already logged in, though no Disney+, plus a hair dryer and kettle. There were small and large towels, slippers, toiletries including toothpaste, shampoo, and cleanser, and chargers fixed to the tables for iPhone and Android. The regular toilet had no automatic bidet, which was a letdown. The front desk had a microwave, and staff were pleasant and helpful throughout my eight days. They lent me scissors that had to stay at the desk, let me borrow a luggage scale, and offered to keep valuables in a locker. They also helped arrange an airport taxi when I couldn't book one with all my luggage. It cost 120,000 KRW, paid by card. You can request cleaning by circling your room number in the book before midnight the day before. We had it cleaned once, and they were thorough and left water bottles. There's a convenience store next door and an Olive Young across the road, so food and basics are easy to get. Before arriving, I asked for a higher floor after reading about club noise, and they kindly gave me a room on the 9th floor for my whole stay. The noise was there, but it wasn't loud or bothersome up there, even though I'm a light sleeper. I did occasionally feel vibrations, but loud music wasn't an issue. I was unsure about the location at first, but it turned out to be very central, near a bus stop and within walking distance of a subway station. There was construction on lower floors, so it could be noisy during the day, but I was usually out then and it didn't bother me.

Lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious and clean, and the hotel smelled really nice. They provided a bathrobe, slippers, toothbrush, body lotion, and toiletries. The location was good too.

I was fine with the noise, and the room was clean. When I arrived at night to check in, the receptionist was kind and welcoming. After checking out, I left my luggage in the lobby and came back that evening. I stayed there for a while, drank my own water, and used the toilet twice. After the second time, the new receptionist, who had just started at 18:00, went in and locked it. When I asked if I could use the toilet, he told me to go to the subway station. I don't know why I couldn't use the lobby bathroom. The look on his face while telling me to go to the station felt really unpleasant.
