For the money, this place is a good deal. The owners were easy to talk with and accommodating, and the place was clean. They offered coffee, bread, and jam for breakfast. It’s near sindap station and within walking distance of the airport bus stop. I’d stay again, but would ask for a level 1 room. I’m not sure how to request that while booking, so maybe contact the property first. We booked four rooms through booking.com, and the person who made the reservation thought this maison hotel had a lift and laundry services. It has neither a lift nor a reception desk, so you have to call for check-in instructions. The ceiling was a bit dilapidated, and the rooms were tiny. Without the TV mounted high, you could hit it with your feet. There’s a refrigerator but no table, and nowhere to put luggage. The bathroom is cramped too. We had three senior citizens with us, and our rooms were on levels 1, 2, and 3. There are stairs from the ground floor up to level 3, and the rooms are so tight there’s only room for the beds and one person walking along the sides. A group of three would find a room uncomfortable, especially after a tiring excursion. With two people, it might feel less crowded.

The owners made a long stay feel easy. They were kind, reachable on WhatsApp, and always willing to help. Food was available in the lobby, and sometimes they even brought snacks to us. The service was outstanding. Our room was cozy and comfortable, with Netflix, YouTube, and colorful lighting. The heated floors were especially nice on cold days, and the shower had great soaps. The hotel is close to the metro for getting around, while still being quiet enough to relax. We loved our time here and will definitely come back. One of the best places we’ve stayed.

The names vary across booking sites, including Maison Seongsu Kan Hotel and Maison Kan Dongdaemun Hotel, but they refer to the same model. We’d booked a longer stay, but after arriving we found a bathroom that smelled of sewage, a large coffee spill on the wall, and a window without a working lock. There was no elevator, and no staff at the front desk to help with check-in. Their unusual setup meant we couldn’t find anyone available, even when we tried to message about checking out. After driving 400 km that day, we were exhausted and could only manage one night. The mattress was so poor my spouse barely slept. We found a better hotel on Agoda and moved there the next day, leaving the unused nights from our booking. The hotel refused our request for a refund for those nights. The online photos don’t show the actual condition, and I’d avoid this motel.

Getting the room number requires contacting hotel staff through SNS. The location is handy, close to the subway, and the price was reasonable for our few days there. Food was always available in the lobby, though no one touched it during our stay. One night the shower was freezing cold.
