Myeongdong Story House Bed and Breakfast

The room was cramped, with old, uncomfortable bedding that made it hard to sleep, and the walls were broken and poorly maintained. It smelled awful and felt completely unhygienic. The AC didn't work at all, so the room was unbearably hot. Nothing was soundproof, and noise carried clearly from everywhere. There isn't a lift, and the stairs to the 3rd and 4th floors are very narrow and unsafe. The kitchen water dispenser barely worked, and no toilet amenities were provided.

There wasn't even a hook for my winter jacket or a table to eat at or put my food and makeup on. During my four days there, they didn't change the sheets or pillowcase. It was pretty noisy, too, because of the construction next to the house.

The price felt fair, and the location was really convenient, just a few meters from Daiso, Myeongdong Station Exit 1, E-mart, and Myeongdong walking street. There's a restaurant downstairs, and the small room was still big enough for two. The downside is there's no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage all the way up to the 4th floor.

It's easy to get here from Seoul Metro Myeongdong Station, and there's a water heater in the room. Space gets tight if you're bringing 2-3 luggages, though. No bathroom floor mats were provided, and since the rooms are on the third and fourth floors with no elevator, be ready to haul your bags upstairs.
