Namsan Hill Hotel

I’ve stayed here twice now, and both visits have been pleasant. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk to Hoehyeon Station, Line 4, Exit 1. Namdaemun Market is within walking distance, and Myeongdong is one subway stop away. There are two CU convenience stores, plenty of places to eat, and a self-service laundry shop nearby. The rooms are very clean and get daily housekeeping, with fresh towels, bottled water, and shower amenities. The lobby has a Coway water dispenser and luggage scale, and there are free Maxim coffee sachets for self-service. The walk back is uphill, so heavy luggage could be a pain. A standard taxi from Incheon Airport cost around SGD $60 when booked through Kride. I’d come back again.

The neighborhood is quiet, with Myeongdong and Namsan tower nearby. There are convenience stores for food and drinks, restaurants, and a subway station close to the hotel. Getting there can mean stairs and hills, though. The subway elevator was broken during our visit, so hopefully it’s fixed by now. With kids and lots of luggage, that walk could be exhausting. For a group, I’d consider taking a taxi to or from the airport to avoid hauling everything up and down the hills.

The hotel was okay for the price, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms could use some work: the furnishings and décor felt dated, and the air conditioning was noisy enough to make sleeping difficult. Some renovation and maintenance would make the place much better.

The location in myeongdong is great, and the front desk was friendly, though they didn’t help with my luggage. My bedsheet had stains, and there were no toiletries such as shampoo or body wash in the room.
