New Hilltop Hotel

The only small issue was an occasional sewage smell in our room, 1208, possibly from the plumbing. Aside from that, we had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Elena in Gangnam. The staff were kind, attentive, and helpful when they welcomed us between Christmas and New Year’s, and their hospitality made the visit especially pleasant. The hotel is near metro stations, with direct buses to major tourist sites. We appreciated the comfort and excellent service, and would happily stay again.

The reception staff were so attentive and great with customer service. I never got the names of the men who checked us in and out, but both were amazing and made the stay excellent from start to finish. We found Hotel Eliena by chance when booking our first trip to South Korea in November, and I’m so glad we did. We chose Gangnam for its relaxed feel and found it wasn’t hard to get around Seoul from there. Our room was lovely and spacious. We also went for breakfast, and I’d definitely recommend getting the Korean option every day. The breakfast staff were kind, helpful, and easy to chat with.

The front desk man was so kind. He ran to help us with every Uber we took, loaded our luggage, and kept opening the door. As foreign girls visiting, we appreciated his kindness so much. The room was clean and amazing, looked lovely inside and out, and the location was good too. The service was exceptional. I’d recommend it and hope to come back someday.

We went for a wedding and didn’t stay overnight. The venue had a pretty, pleasant atmosphere, and we really enjoyed the course meal. Some staff were very friendly and some were just okay, which I’d expect with so many people working a wedding, from coordinators to servers. It seems they run three weddings at once on a typical Saturday, on floors 2, 4, and 5, with one around 2pm and another in the evening around 5 to 6pm. It gets hectic, and the elevators, bathrooms, and changing room can get clogged up. For a regular wedding guest, though, things should go fairly smoothly. It seemed like a great venue, but I haven’t been to enough different Korean wedding venues to compare.
