New Kukje Hotel

Clean rooms with their own WiFi, a bidet, and a lovely view. The concierge spoke English, and there’s a convenience store attached to the hotel. It’s also close to city hall, buses, and plenty of cultural sites. I’d recommend it. There’s a sauna and massage area on the 3rd floor, but it was closed each time I checked. That didn’t bother me since I was out most of the day and only came back at odd hours. The price was very nice, too.

The counter staff were very helpful, and the coin laundry came in handy for a longer stay. City Hall train station is nearby, as are lots of places to eat and Cheonggyecheon canal, which is lovely for a stroll or a run. The bed was kind of hard, and the carpet looked pretty old. Apart from that, the location was great.

We’d happily stay here again next time. The staff were helpful and accommodating, and spoke English, so communication was easy. Our room was cleaned every day, including fresh sheets and towels. We also liked the location, the restaurants behind the hotel, and plenty more around.

The city view from my spacious, clean room was lovely. I could see the mountain, gyeongbukgung palace, which is within walking distance, and the blue house. There’s also a lounge on the 15th floor with a balcony and outdoor seating, with a very nice view. The hotel staff, including Mr Koo and another bigger size staff member, were really helpful with my questions about transport, food, and hotel facilities. They even helped order fried chicken when I couldn’t do it myself. The hotel had useful information ready, like the cafe and convenience shop hours on the ground floor, laundry details, and the airport bus timetable right outside. I made good use of the coin laundry, which many hotels don’t have. I stayed six nights in Dec 2022. The hotel is near City Hall subway and within walking distance of myeongdong, with places to eat nearby. I was pleasantly surprised by the free simple breakfast for guests during my stay. The salad and toast were fresh and good enough. It’s easy to get around from here, and I’d come back for the helpful staff, good price, and pleasant stay.
