Noo Noo Hotel Jongno

The only good thing is the location. Otherwise this motel gave me an eerie, spooky feeling. It felt more like a love hotel, and as a solo traveler I didn’t feel safe. The safety lock on the door was broken, so I used the rope at night to secure it twice. The lighting was creepy, everything felt dirty and used, and there wasn’t even a toothbrush or anyone to clean the room. Check-in is at 6pm, which is ridiculous when they don’t seem to clean the rooms. I guess they need to hold them for couples renting by the hour. If you want to arrive earlier, it costs another 50,000 krw. The staff were rude and unhelpful, and gave off a creepy vibe. Seriously, do yourself a favor and stay away.

The conditions here are unacceptable. I saw cockroaches in the rooms, the ventilation was poor, the carpets were filthy, and water leaked from the bathroom sink. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

Hotel noo noo should be called Hotel “No-No.” It was super gross: hair and dirt clumps, residue dripping from the ceiling, smoke alarms that weren’t hooked up, water leaking through the floor from the toilet, and smoking in a non-smoking room, among other things. I have a health condition and had paid for a non-smoking room. They refused to do anything to accommodate us. The staff were extremely rude and annoyed from the moment we arrived to check in. We had to leave because of my health condition and their refusal to move us to the non-smoking room we’d paid for. No refund, nothing. By far our worst experience ever. We came for the location, but nothing could make this place worth staying at.

We booked three nights because the ads made the place look bright and clean, and I trusted Agoda. My partner and I were traveling while Korea’s Covid-19 cases were still increasing, so we were careful about hygiene, including not sharing toiletries. After checking in, we found that the room didn’t match the one we’d chosen and paid for. It was dirty and dusty, with a used comb, used toilet rolls and tissues, used shampoo, body wash and lotion, and stains on the pillows and bed. The aircond leaked, and they’d just put a tissue over the leak. There was a strong damp smell. I called reception as soon as I saw all this to ask for a change. The receptionist said every room was fully booked, so my partner and I had to book another hotel at the last minute. When we went downstairs to return the keys, he asked why we were checking out. We explained the room wasn’t what we expected, but he didn’t understand and just said, “Cancellation no refund.” I’m not an unreasonable customer, and I do accept non-refundable terms and conditions if the room has no issues like these. But this was unacceptable because of the hygiene problems.
