Royal Square Hotel Seoul

We stayed here because of an early flight from Gimpo, but getting to the airport still meant taking public transport. The area didn’t feel very good to me, and it was noisy. The room itself was clean, though dark, and the shower head wasn’t working properly. Keep the window closed too, or smoke from outside can pour in.

For our last night in South Korea, this hotel worked out perfectly. There are plenty of convenience stores, coffee and tea shops, an Olive Young for last-minute shopping, and restaurants nearby for one last Korean BBQ dinner. We were only there for a night between arriving at Gimpo from Jeju Island and flying out of Incheon Intl. Airport the following day. From Gimpo, it was easy to catch almost any bus and get to the hotel in one stop. Check-in was simple, as was checking out the next morning. Our room was roomy and clean, with a large counter, a small seating spot with two chairs and a table, a clothes rack with hangers and hooks, plus a fridge, kettle, and mugs.

We were flying from Gimpo Airport, so this was a great location for us. The metro is just two minutes away, and it takes under ten minutes to reach the airport. Our room was very spacious compared with rooms in central Seoul, and it even had a washing machine.

For a transit stop at GMP, this is a really good option and the prices are very reasonable. The hotel is under 100 metres from the first metro stop away from the airport, so it suits a late arrival or an early flight. The rooms are comfortable, the Wi-Fi works well, and the shower has excellent pressure. There’s a commercial gym in the basement, plus a convenience store between the hotel and the station. I’m not sure if the store is open 24 hours, but it was still open at 10:30 p.m.
