Schlagen Hotel

I loved the calm, warm feel of this place. The room was spotless, including the bedding and bathroom, and all the thoughtful little touches made it easy to relax at the end of the day. It felt cozy and beautifully decorated, almost like stepping into a fairytale after climbing the stairs. I was completely happy with the stay. If I come back to Jongno, I’d stay here again, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a charming place to rest. 🌙🤍

We stayed at Dalstair Hotel in Jongno, near Daehakro, for a short visit that I still remember fondly. My nephew and his wife were visiting from Vancouver, Canada, and wanted to see Korea’s old palaces, so we picked a hotel close to Changgyeonggung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, Myeongdong, Daehakro, Itaewon, and Gwangjang Market. I was on the first floor and they were on the second. There really were lots of stairs, just as the name suggests, but they had fun climbing them while playing rock-paper-scissors. Vancouver is mostly flat, after all. One night, we looked out at Seoul’s lights from a cafe in Naksan Park, and hearing them say they wanted to come back was especially memorable. The clean, fluffy bedding was so comfortable, and I slept wonderfully. ^^

We were close to Seoul National University Hospital for some business, and the area had a lively feel thanks to all the nearby universities. There were lots of good restaurants, and we ate a lot. The station was close too, with plenty to see along the way. Since it had just opened, the hotel was very clean, and the women I came with liked it even more. The rooftop was awesome.

I booked this because of my daughter’s school and only just managed to get a room since it’s so popular. After seeing it, I understood the demand: the room was impeccably clean and the interior looked lovely. We stayed on the second floor, and the relaxing time we spent on the terrace is something I won’t forget. I’m definitely planning to return.
