The Shilla Seoul

That pastry shop was gorgeous and came to the rescue at 930pm, when jetlag had us sleeping through dinner. The meals are a bit expensive. The staff were extremely friendly, and even though the hotel sits on a hill, there are frequent free shuttles to the front gate and hourly ones to ddp and myeongdong. We had a pretty view of the north Seoul tower in the morning and at night. The bathtub was only big enough for one person.

The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve come across, even after staying at excellent hotels in many countries. The selection was out of this world, and the food gets a 12 out of 10. The Shilla Seoul may be the best hotel in the city. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished, with stunning views and amenities of outstanding quality. The bar has a lovely atmosphere and great live music. But what really sets the place apart for me is the first-class service, which redefined what service means. It’s a fantastic hotel, well located, and absolutely worth recommending.

The room was tiny. With two checked bags and two carry-ons, opening even one checked bag left no room for the others. At least the bed was comfy. The breakfast was awesome, all buffet style with tons of cuisines, and they change the menu a little each day. The hotel and service were great too. From arrival right through checkout, the staff gave us individual attention. If you book with AMEX FHR, I’d recommend stopping by the bakery for a cute teddy bear keyring.

The breakfast buffet is among the best I’ve had, with options for all sorts of tastes. The room was comfortable and clean, though the furniture felt a little old-fashioned. It’s a great hotel in a convenient spot close to a subway station. Highly recommended.
