Hotel Thomas Myeongdong

The cleaning staff were #1, always very nice and bringing water, coffee, and towels when we needed them. Breakfast was free and a great way to start the day. There are plenty of food and drink spots to choose from nearby, along with convenience stores and coffee shops. A really nice hotel in a great location, and good value for a clean, safe place.

Check-in and checkout were quick and seamless at the front desk kiosks. There’s also a vending machine for drinks and a few toiletries. Korean regulations mean larger hotels can’t provide disposables for free. Guests get 50% off drinks at the cafe located with the hotel, and they were pretty good. Hotel Thomas sits at the edge of Myeongdong, about a five-minute walk from City Hall metro station, one stop from Seoul station. Namdaemun market and Myeongdong shopping street are around a 15-minute walk away, with convenience stores and eateries close by. The room was a good size, though the bathroom was a tad small. I really appreciated the self-service laundry on the 12th floor, with two washers and two dryers.

Access was great, with bus 6001 very close by for getting to Incheon airport. Bring your own toothbrush, cotton pads, and hairbrush, as the hotel doesn’t provide those amenities. They kept our luggage safely while we traveled elsewhere in Korea, and we had no problems. Thank you!

The staff were warm and genuinely helpful, and the location is the hotel's strongest point. But the rooms feel worn, with things like wallpaper peeling off, and the price doesn't feel justified. Breakfast was especially disappointing. I'd rather eat somewhere in the city than pay for it here.
