Toyoko Inn Seoul Dongdaemun 1

I was traveling solo and would stay here again. The location is handy for DDP, there’s luggage storage, and pajamas are available in the lobby if you want them. My room had the basic necessities and was well equipped. Just note that they stick to the check-in time.

The breakfast was included and had a good variety that changed every day, so it didn’t get boring. We were given two bottles of water daily. Reception staff were friendly, and one young man working the morning of 25/4 was especially helpful and nice. I’d stay again, hopefully in a twin room for more space. We had a double room for four nights in April 2025. At 13m² it was a bit tight, though we could half open our luggage and hang a few clothes on the wall rack. The room, towels, and bathroom were clean. You stand in the bathtub to shower, but the curtain kept the floor dry. Water pressure was good and the temperature was easy to adjust. Shampoo and similar items were provided, but bring your own toothbrush and razor. There’s a washer and dryer on the lobby floor, though they get busier at night. The location was really convenient for meals and shopping around dongdaemon. Dongdaemon Design Plaza and the city walls are right behind the hotel. Airport Bus 6001 stops at the doorstep, and line 4 exit 4 is around the corner. There’s an elevator by that exit down to the subway platforms. The neighborhood wasn’t rowdy, and there were a few convenience stores nearby. We had a very satisfying dinner one night at Buke Seoul, a small place down the lane to the right of the hotel.

Staying at Toyoko Inn made my time in Seoul really comfortable 😊 The service was very good, and the staff were easy to approach.

There’s a bathtub, which was a plus, but the bathroom itself is tiny. The room isn’t huge either, though it’s comfortable enough for sleeping. The subway station is just minutes away, so getting around is easy. Most TV channels are Korean, with one in English. Free breakfast is served in the morning, which makes this a good deal for the rate. I did notice an unpleasant smell in the lobby when I came in, though I couldn’t tell what it was. Fine for a couple of days.
