Urbanwood Guesthouse

We stayed at Urbanwood for five nights as a family of two adults and two teenagers. Martin, the host, was sincere and hospitable, and took care to make a nice breakfast each morning, styling the food differently every day. He also gave us clear directions for getting around Seoul to cultural and entertainment spots. The shared sitting and dining areas were welcoming, and the reading corner and rooftop were a special touch. They were lovely places to take a quiet break after a long day in busy Seoul. Urbanwood's decor and setting felt homely, and the stay was very enjoyable and memorable.

Martin made the stay feel especially welcoming, always ready to help with whatever we needed. The guesthouse has lovely interiors, and it’s right in central Seoul, with plenty of good Korean restaurants nearby. My girlfriend and I had a really pleasant time.

Hongdae was the highlight for us: lively, full of students, and yet quiet enough at Martin's place to sleep well. Seoul won us over on our first visit, from the food and people to the nightlife and fashion. We liked Urbanwood so much that my husband and I came back in January and July this year. Getting there from the airport was simple, about 45 minutes by train and then a two-minute walk. Martin was lovely and helped us plan outings around the city. His apartment is beautiful, spotless, and homely, and he made a healthy, delicious breakfast each morning. We highly recommend staying at Urbanwood if you're visiting Seoul.

The location made it easy to head out for food, drinks, coffee, or shopping, and the station is close by. Martin also had great ideas for things to do in Seoul. The room was spotless, service was hard to fault, and breakfast was tasty and nicely presented. I'd happily stay here again.
