Chestertons Sokcho

The facilities are very pleasant, and the staffing feels four-star. It’s well located near the main beach in this beautiful city, and there’s no noise between rooms. The outdoor pool is small, but good enough for younger kids.

The rooftop is great to hang out on, with wonderful nighttime views of the skyline. There’s also a free outdoor pool that’s very kid-friendly, plus a small, clean sauna in the basement for a small fee. The hotel seems new, or at least recently remodeled, and the location and value are both great. I’d definitely stay again if I came back to Sokcho.

This is a clean, new residence hotel in a good spot for tourists, and the swimming pool is a nice size. It’s great for families with kids. The rooms have kitchens, but you’re not allowed to cook in them. Elevators can be hard to use in the morning when lots of people are checking out.

The rooftop has a great view, and the lobby has a convenience store and an ice cream vending machine. There are restaurants and more convenience stores nearby, and the room was spacious, so I do recommend the place. I just wish the view had been better. We faced the opposite building and could see people inside, though luckily there were curtains. The listing on AGODA said the rooms were soundproof, but they definitely aren’t. I could hear conversations next door and in the corridor. They left extra tissues and toilet rolls on day one, but after I pressed Do Not Disturb, they put more in the room even though I hadn’t asked for them. They don’t provide toiletries, so keep that in mind. There’s a washing machine, but no dryer.
