Urbanstay Sokcho Deungdae Beach

The balcony view was extraordinary, even though the windows and doors could have been cleaner. Inside, everything was bright and spotless, and the instructions were clear, which made the stay pleasant. I booked through Booking.com for around €27 a night, and it was worth every cent. I really enjoyed my time here.

The room was decent, though my view looked onto a construction site building. The location was good, and Agoda got back to me very quickly when I contacted them. Check-in was annoying, since nobody told me the access code was supposed to arrive before we checked in, and there’s no front desk.

The ocean view from the balcony was stunning, and the studio ocean room was spacious. The bed was comfortable, and the room and bathroom were perfectly clean. There was a hairdryer, TV, AC, slippers, towels, body wash, and shampoo, but no toothpaste. Outside are some coffee places and convini, and Sokcho wheel eye is not too far away. It's a nice location, though a bit far from the bus terminal, about an 8-minute taxi ride. The main problem is check-in: it's self-service and all the instructions are only in Korean. Without speaking the language or having a Korean phone number, it would be impossible, and there was no staff at the desk to help. I was with a Korean person, so it was easy for me, but foreign visitors should be careful. The price was reasonable, and I'd recommend staying here.

The facilities weren't bad, but the staff didn't seem willing to do much. I stayed two nights, and on the second they wouldn't clean the room or even take out the garbage. They expect guests to remove it themselves.
