Yangyang Naksan Haemaru

We were traveling on a whim with our family of four and couldn’t find a room. A discounted deal on Yanolja came through, and we had a great time. We stayed over a long weekend with our 6-year-old and 4-year-old. The room was a little small, so one of us had to sleep on the floor. Soundproofing was poor, and the mattress was another drawback. The place is older and only open on weekends. We had a fifth-floor ocean-view room for ₩270,000, which you need to book by calling the owner directly. It’s right behind Naksan Beach and worked well for a family with two children.

I’ve been coming back for over 15 years, and the kind owner and his wife make me feel right at home. I first started visiting because of the wonderful ocean view and the sound of the waves. It’s become my regular place whenever I’m in Donghae.

It’s a studio-style place and stays cool and fresh enough that I didn’t need the air conditioner. You’re right beside the beach, so you can enjoy water activities and fall asleep with the waves nearby. There’s plenty of parking. Cooking may be a little inconvenient, but it’s a relaxing place to stay.

Minus 10 out of 10. The refrigerator, sofa, dresser, and kitchenware were all still the ones that came with the room when it first opened. The sofa was so filthy I couldn’t sit on it, yet the rate was 90,000 won a night. I don’t think I’ll ever return.
