Blue Mango Pool Villa & Resort

The room was dirty, and the bed was so soft I sank into it like a water bed. The towels were old and falling apart. Don’t bring your family here. This resort is expensive, dirty, and rude, and I wouldn’t recommend it. My biggest concern is that the staff didn’t seem to care about the children, just about clocking out and going home. On December 8, 2021, the website said the pool closed at 9 p.m., but staff shut it around 8:40 so they could leave early. It was only 3 to 4 degrees outside. A staff member made our children get out with 20 minutes still left, and they were left freezing in the cold. I went back to the resort to get the whirlpool turned on for them. When I returned to pick them up, they were still freezing, and we had to take them to a doctor the next day. If someone from blue mango had called and let the adults know what was happening, I wouldn’t have written this review. Nobody did. The staff sent the kids out, turned off all the pool lights, and left. They don’t understand hotel service, relationships, or caring for people. The service was awful. The staff were rude and seemed not to know what they were doing. Thanks for reading :)

I came for the heated pool, where there’s a cafe and restaurant serving beer, chicken, and drinks. The big screen with music videos was fun, and there’s a sauna too. You can only use the pool after check-in, though, with no morning swimming. There’s also a convenience store, cafe, and game room. The room was a little dated but clean. Getting there is a bit tricky, and there’s a raw fish restaurant right next door.

The room was spacious, and the ocean view opened up as soon as I walked in. I’d booked the Royal Suite after reading that it was well maintained, so the mess was a real letdown. There was dried rice and hair all along the path from the living room to the kitchen, and chili powder and other bits were stuck to the dining chairs. I kept stepping on things. It wasn’t just tucked away in a corner. I checked in after 4 as planned, so there was no rush involved. My friend’s area had been cleaned, but the floors hadn’t been done at all. I couldn’t find any slippers, which made it feel even less comfortable. Maybe I was unlucky this time, but a single bad cleaning job can ruin the reputation of the whole place.

We had a lovely ocean view, and it was so convenient having a raw fish restaurant close by. I appreciated the thoughtful kitchen utensils. The bathroom lighting could use improvement, and the nightlight was weak.
