Canada Sunset Village

The owner was friendly and the rooms were clean. It's a lovely spot for a quiet night, with a beautiful sunset by the beach. There's a pool where the kids can play. I haven't tried the mudflats yet, but I think that could make a great memory with the kids.

The owner was the best part for me. She was so pleasant and enthusiastic about explaining the nearby restaurants and cafes. The garden was tidy, the lobby was spacious, and there was a facility that looked like a summer pool. There's also a communal dining room, which was unusual. We picked an ocean-view room on the first floor and could see the sea reasonably well. Still, being on the ground floor meant we couldn't leave the windows open as much as we'd have liked. The place is a single-story building, and the room had just one room and a bathroom, with no kitchen inside. There's a shared kitchen instead. Our room had one bed, a TV, a small single-compartment fridge, a TV stand, and a clothes rack. There wasn't a vanity or a chair. The bathroom was clean but small, with a shower connected to the sink and no bathtub. There wasn't even a little shelf, so we had nowhere to put toiletries like toothbrushes. The water pressure was weak, so showering wasn't very refreshing. Heating is central, and it felt a bit cold to me, though that may be subjective. The TV kept switching off while I watched it, maybe because it was set to shut off automatically. That was annoying. They will bring blankets or pillows if you ask. There are no groceries or alcohol for sale at the pension. Nearby, there are nice cafes, canola flower fields, and a coastal walking trail. I visited the cafes and only looked at the flower fields, and skipped the walk. It suits couples looking for a quiet getaway, though families with kids might find the area dull. The room we stayed in felt about like a motel room, despite the owner's warmth and enthusiasm.

We brought our dogs to the cafe, and the spacious playground and well-equipped safety features were fantastic. The kids were so excited running around that they were snoring on the way home. All the kids were so kind and wonderful.

Think of it as a pension. It's a Canadian-style hotel with a small pool and parasols for grilling and eating. You can cook in the lobby, and the rooms have air conditioning. It's a sunset hotel, so only women can see the sea. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM the next day. Please sort your trash when you leave and return the key.
