NEW Sleeps 10 - Laguna Del Mar 19 - Seven Mile Beach

We had a great stay at The Locale and would most likely book there again on another trip to Grand Cayman. It isn't right on the beach, but the nearest one is about a three-minute walk south. I think beach access to the north is five or ten minutes away, though I didn't try it. For the price, it was a good deal. The staff were super nice, like everyone I've met on the island, and the included breakfast was nice, nothing fancy, just scrambled eggs and toast. There's plenty within walking distance, so you could stay a week and eat somewhere different every day. Camana Bay is about a 15-minute walk. At times there was some street noise, but it didn't bother me. From the third floor, the views of the sunrise and especially the sunset are wonderful, though the beach is right there too. One thing I'd like to see is a filtered water bottle filling station in the lobby. Staff were happy to fill my bottle, or let me fill it, each day using the soda gun. It's not a five-star hotel, but I'd still give it five stars.

The breakfast was delicious. Guests get a complimentary section of the menu, and I had the French toast while my husband chose the vegetarian omelette. TJ and Cher were great too, very accommodating and full of good recommendations. We asked for a crib, but there wasn't one when we arrived, so they set up a playpen in our room until a crib became available the next day. We didn't use the pool, though the area looked nice, and there was a good gym beside it. We did use the shower across the way to rinse off after the beach, about a three-minute walk away. Towels are available at the front desk if you ask. We used them on a beach day and an excursion, and they also had chairs, though we didn't use those. There are two shopping plazas with restaurants nearby. We'd definitely recommend the place and come back. It is on the main road, so traffic is audible. Light sleepers should bring earplugs.

The staff really made the trip special, especially for my daughter's 18th birthday. TJ at the front desk and Johnny at breakfast gave us great customer service. The rooms are spacious, breakfast is made to order, and they provide chairs, beach bags, and towels. I'd highly recommend it for all of that and the wonderful staff. It was a memorable birthday trip.

Restaurants and shops are within a ten-minute walk, and the airport is about 13 minutes away. The beach is just four minutes from the hotel. There's a pool, a handy elevator, and even an ice cream shop and clothing store on the lower level. Breakfast is free for part of the menu, and the food and drinks were amazing. They also provide towels, beach umbrellas, and chairs. The staff are super friendly. I strongly recommend staying here.
