Breakfast wasn't impressive. The cakes and sweets were old, and they offered only coffee, with no water or juice. Housekeeping came in while we were out, but didn't clean or make the beds. They left water, took the face towels, and didn't replace them, so I'm not sure why they entered. On arrival the receptionist was nice and spoke English, but the next day the receptionist didn't speak English and it was hard to communicate. There was no coffee, sugar, or stirrer in the room.

One morning we couldn't get cold water, only water that was too hot to shower with. It was awful. The staff couldn't speak English, which was a real headache for a four-star hotel. The food was standard, and my previous three-star hotel in Almaty was better. I also didn't like the location by the big road. Getting to the store across from the hotel was a hassle because I'd have to cross the twin big road, though the Green Market is nearby.

The hotel sits in a quieter area, away from the hustle and bustle, and it's a good choice at an economy price. The front desk, security, housekeepers, and other staff were very professional. Language was a bit of an issue, since only one or two people understood English. It would be a big help to tourists if more staff did.
