Renion Zyliha Hotel

It was a good price for a well located hotel, and breakfast was nice each morning. Aru was amazing and so helpful, guiding us through the whole stay and going above and beyond. Bahadir was great too. When our guide let us down, he found someone for us at the last minute. We can’t thank him enough for that.

The staff made the stay memorable, always friendly, attentive, and ready to help from check-in until we left. The hotel was also spotless, with impressive attention to detail and clear care taken to maintain its standards. It’s conveniently close to the places you’d want to see, from attractions to popular restaurants.

My husband and I stayed at RENION ZYLIHA HOTEL for five days, and we had a very bitter experience. We were quoted one amount for the five-day package in the hotel’s confirmation email, then the price was suddenly raised without a reasonable explanation. We weren’t told in advance that there would be no bellboy or lift. Because of our joint and knee problems, carrying our three heavy bags from the ground floor to our room on the second floor was very difficult. We also hadn’t been told about water spilling onto the toilet floor. Instead, housekeeping and the service manager kept coming into the bathroom and arguing with us about it. While we were resting, they used a master key to enter our room and argue about the same issue. That was a serious invasion of privacy. They then showed us what I believe was a fabricated picture of a damaged ceiling in a pawn shop below our bathroom, claiming our spilled water had caused the damage. They used this to pressure us for money, and charged us a hefty damage fee. Even after that, whenever we went to the bathroom, they barged in to check and harassed us to the point that we were terrified. The staff were arrogant, and we felt cheated and pressured to pay under a false pretext. There was no polite, humble gesture or hospitality. This is a three-star hotel I’d rate -2 out of 10, and I strongly advise against staying here.

There’s a metro station nearby, and plenty of sights are within walking distance. The hotel is well located, right across from the Astana International if you arrive by taxi. Staff were friendly and the rooms clean. Julia Restaurant, which has the same owner, is next door and serves good food with friendly service. While work was being done at the restaurant, the hotel had a nice, shady terrace out front.
