Salut Hotel Almaty

I was charged an extra 3000 Tenge for a bath towel because staff said its color had changed slightly. That seemed unreasonable for a towel that's meant to be washed and reused. The way they dealt with it felt unprofessional and uncomfortable, and they insisted on the fee without a proper explanation or any flexibility. I stayed at Salute Hotel, and this left a bad impression on what should have been a relaxing visit. Guests may want to check charges carefully. This wasn't the kind of hospitality I expected.

The sauna price looked like 6k for an hour, but when we went to pay, the card reader showed 60k. You could easily miss it. When we questioned the amount, they flipped the sign and said you had to book at least two hours and order food or drinks. There were also a few hookers waiting in the sauna, which might suit some people, but we found it awkward. Our room was hot because the AC didn't work. Opening the window brought in fresh air, but the night staff played music outside all night, so sleeping was impossible. Don't recommend it, go somewhere else. No cap.

The staff were slow and unresponsive with housekeeping. They took our keys, but the room wasn't cleaned during our stay, and they only changed a towel. We had to keep asking for sheets, towels, shampoo and other things for two people because they left supplies for just one. Nobody seemed to speak or understand English, so we were using Google Translate constantly. Our double room had a bed smaller than a queen. The kettle was broken and dirty, with dust you could wipe off with a finger. The curtains were torn and didn't block the light, and the room smelled musty and bad. Breakfast was average, and the elevator could barely fit two people with luggage. I'm surprised the average rating is above 4. This place doesn't even deserve two stars. It was a miserable stay.

We waited from 2:30 PM until 8:00 PM to get a room. We had booked two rooms for three friends through Make my trip, but Salut Hotel gave us just one room with two small beds. We were paying 25k per room per night. It was presented as a 4-star hotel, but I'd rate it below 2 stars. The hotel is outside the city, and nobody was there to help us. The receptionist was very rude and wouldn't listen, saying they didn't speak English. They told me to vacate at 10:00 PM, then banged on my door at 12:30 am while I was deeply asleep. Our room wasn't cleaned for three days, and they wouldn't give us water when we asked. When we tried to communicate, she told us to leave the hotel. Make my trip was a pathetic holiday provider. I regret buying the package and will never use them again. A very bad experience.
