The food was the standout for us, the best we ate on our whole trip, and they’re hoping to start cooking classes. My husband and I spent six weeks traveling in Thailand and Laos, and the Hillside resort was one of the highlights. Kun, the manager, was so kind and attentive, with a calm, gentle way about him. Holge, the owner, was a delight too and gave us lots of helpful ideas for things to do nearby. Sign up for a class if you get the chance!

That scenery around Hillside Nature Lifestyle Lodge is something else, it felt like being in a movie. We spent four nights there and loved how friendly and attentive Holger and his team were from the moment we arrived. Holger explained the nearby hikes, which made it easy to head out and explore. And Tom Yum, the lodge dog, was the sweetest hiking companion and quickly won us over. Our stay was unforgettable, and Laos exceeded our expectations.

Tom Yam, the lodge dog, made exploring the area even better as our guide. We had a great stay at Hillside Nature Lifestyle Lodge, surrounded by lovely nature, good hiking trails, and delicious food. It’s a peaceful place to slow down and recharge, and an easy escape from Luang Prabang. A great pick if you want some quiet and time outdoors.

There are plenty of nice hikes and activities here, often well away from the usual paths, or you can just take it easy. The prices for food, accommodation, transfers, and activities are all very reasonable. The staff are really friendly and excellent. Thanks again to Holger and the crew, I’d happily recommend it.

The restaurant stays open all day and has a good mix of local and Western food. Staff are welcoming and always keen to help you plan the day. It’s a peaceful hotel surrounded by nature, with spacious, nice rooms and a pool in a lovely spot overlooking the view.
