The owners were friendly, and I’d happily come back. My fan room was 80k lip; the fan was strong and kept it from getting hot. There was hot water and good pressure in the shower, plus a pool for cooling off. The terrace in front has a great view. The AC rooms have balconies with views, while the fan rooms don’t, but you can enjoy the views from the pool and terrace. Great value.

Breakfast was good, served in a room overlooking the Mekong. The owners were welcoming when I met them the next morning, though the front of house staff need to improve. I’d booked through agoda, but the staff didn’t know about it, so check-in felt unfriendly. I thought I’d booked an AC room, but the staff briskly took away the remote. The room itself was OK.

The owner went above and beyond and bailed out our World Challenge group several times. The Mekong Inn has a lovely, laid-back feel, with a pool and riverside dining. I highly recommend it.

The room had everything we needed: aircon, a decent shower, towels, a pool, and good WiFi. The staff were lovely and the food was great.

The host was Canadian/ loatian, and the place was perfectly spotless. The Mekong sunrise around 0600 0630 was so good. It’s a good base for cyclists, and river trips are available. They’ll make amazing food if you order early.
