The access road is about 1 km of bumpy dirt track, which helps explain why this waterfall isn't a mainstream stop. Buses and minivans can't get through, so it's usually motorbike riders who make the trip. There's a large milestone beside the parking area, where a neglected resort tuk-tuk now sits swallowed by foliage. Tad Etu is the first of the Four Sisters waterfalls when coming up from Pakse. It's north of Hwy 16, with the turnoff near the KM 36 marker. Google Maps marks both the waterfall and the abandoned resort. Before COVID, the resort was operating, but the jungle has since taken it over. Some structures remain visible, though none are fit to stay in.
