Dokchampa Hotel

We paid extra for the VIP Suite and checked in for two days in the early afternoon. Before we looked at the room, we went out to arrange our trips, which turned out to be a big mistake. When we came back, we couldn't believe how filthy it was.

The room was cozy, with air conditioning and a hot shower, and the staff were nice. It's close to the town center and right by the night market, which is a great location. The place is a bit old and run-down.

I've stayed here twice. The price seems reasonable compared with other guesthouses, and the hotel feels a bit like a guesthouse, with space for a refrigerator. The staff came across as rather reserved.

At 200,000 kip a night, I expected basic cleanliness, but the hotel was filthy and worn down. The walls were dirty, the ceilings moldy, and there were cockroaches. A foul smell spread through the room at night, so I asked to switch rooms, but the other room smelled exactly the same. Other guests also like to smoke indoors.
