Sanakeo Boutique Hotel and Spa

The surroundings were clean and made for a nice stay in Luang Prabang. It's about 1.5 km from the night market, an easy walk if you want to explore the street food and market. I enjoyed the food and coffee during my stay and while working on business. There's also a swimming pool next to the conference room.

The room was roomy and comfortable, with a cute balcony, and there’s a medium-sized pool and a fitness area. The hotel works well for tourists with wheeled luggage, though that seems to apply to rooms on the second floor. It’s a bit far from the night market and downtown, but a convenience store and pharmacy are less than a minute away. Breakfast could use a quality upgrade, even though the taste and quality were good. I’d give it 7.5/10.

Being away from the busy town made the stay feel especially relaxing, and the hotel offers free rides the short distance into town. The pool was beautiful and just the right temperature, and the quaint room was lovely, with everything you need in one resort. The staff made the place feel welcoming: the owner was knowledgeable and helpful, the bar staff were fun, and everyone was smiling. Breakfast was 100%, and even though my stay was short, it was incredible. I couldn’t have asked for better. Thank you, I’ll be back.

The rooms are well appointed, and the hotel is quiet, away from the sights and activities. There’s a shuttle, but guests aren’t told about it. A few small things were annoying: no butter at breakfast, limited choices for vegetarians and people who don’t eat pork, and curtains left hanging loose without repair. Still, I’d recommend staying a few days for couples exploring Luang Prabang and the surrounding area.
