We stayed twice and had a completely different experience from the negative reviews. The staff were caring and helpful both times, with good local suggestions and help sorting out transport. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning was excellent, much appreciated in the April heat in LP. The peninsula location is convenient, with everything a short walk away. Maybe entitled behavior leads to a worse time, but I can’t understand the unhappy tourist reviews.

The property is beautiful, with lovely, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The breakfast setting is serene and the staff are friendly, but breakfast was below average for the price. It needs good fresh bread, real coffee and fresh noodles. The place is expensive for Laos. It’s beside the road, though the road isn’t busy, so try for an upstairs room with a balcony and river views. Otherwise, you’re looking at the road.

We were first booked somewhere else, at Sadhakam Royal View hotel, but were brought here instead. We got a family room on the ground floor. It had an unpleasant smell, and there was noise from the bar, or whatever it is, right beside it. The windowless bathroom looked quite old. For what we paid, I wouldn’t recommend it. It was disappointing, and I find the high rating strange.

The little spot is pretty and secluded, with lovely staff. It’s right next to a temple, so seeing the monks is easy, and everything else is easy to get to as well.

Boun at reception made the stay especially nice. They were friendly, kind and always ready to help, and the rest of the staff were welcoming too. I stayed three nights, and the room was clean and comfortable. The food was good, and the smoothies were amazing. I especially liked the watermelon milkshake. It takes a little while to make, but it’s worth waiting for. The location is quiet and convenient, about a 5-10 minute walk to the nearby temple and main street. I really enjoyed my stay and would happily return.
