The dorms upstairs share a single toilet and shower among around 30 people, and the beds have no curtains, so there’s no privacy. It’s one of the cheapest hostels in Luang Prabang, though, and breakfast is included, which is nice. You get what you pay for.

I stayed in a six-person shared room on the second floor. The bed, pillow, and blanket were very comfortable, with enough space for a backpack, but there were no curtains. There are no backpack lockers, only small lockers on the first floor for smaller bags. The bathroom is outside the room, with separate showers and toilets. On the first floor there are two toilets and two showers, while the second has one of each. The towels are really good quality, but the holes in the bathroom walls felt uncomfortable. On the second floor, someone could see you using the toilet, jeje. The building is old and wooden, so it doesn’t feel like a nice place. The AC kept the room cool at night, but only ran from 11pm to 6am. During the day it wasn’t hot, but it wasn’t cool either. Breakfast was included, with eggs, toast, tea or coffee, and noodles available too. The location is quiet at night, about a 10-minute walk from the night market. Two good scooter rental places are nearby, one 30 seconds away and the other five minutes. I gave it four stars because the AC wasn’t available all day and of the holes in the bathroom walls. Date: 1/3/25.

Good location and price, and there’s a safe. There are some pretty girls learning English)). There’s practically nobody here, just builders, but that’s okay. You can quietly work on your laptop after putting on mosquito repellent.

I stayed here on three separate occasions and was very happy each time. After my first visit, the owners let me leave my big bags for two weeks while I traveled and hiked around. I returned for a longer stay, left again for a trip to the Elephant Conservation Center, and then came back for a third time. The owner/receptionist was helpful throughout and kept in touch with me promptly over WhatsApp. There’s even tea and coffee at the hostel, how fancy is that? The price is reasonable and includes breakfast, which not many hostels in Luang Prabang offer. Whenever I checked in, the sheets and pillowcases were clean, and the beds were really comfortable. There are lockers, too, and you get a key for a deposit. The shower was the best I’ve had in South East Asia over the last four months, with very hot water and great pressure. There are two showers downstairs and one upstairs, plus two bathrooms downstairs and one upstairs. Thanks, and see you next time I’m in Luang Prabang!

The common area always has great vibes, and the location is great, close enough to the centre but far enough away. It’s iconic and one of the cheapest places around, and almost all 40 beds are full every day. You get five breakfast options, and it’s good and filling. Free coffee, tea, and hot water are available all day. The bedding, sheets, and blankets are clean and comfy. The bunk beds are basic, with no curtains or extras, but each bed has a switchboard and a fan. You can wash and hang your clothes without restrictions. Tip: the mixed dorm is roomier and more comfortable than the others, and it has windows you can open. Great price, and you get what you pay for, so don’t expect luxury. My only complaint is that the toilets aren’t always spotless. The upstairs bathroom has two windows without doors, and the doors don’t always close properly. Ask the staff if you need something, they’re sure to help if you ask reasonably.
