For 300.000 kip a night, this room was a disappointment. It was noisy enough that I could hear even the faintest ding from a neighbor's phone. The bed and pillow were hard, there was no hot water, and it wasn't very clean. At a third of the price, it would have been good.

A decent room for the money, near the slow boat pier and a few restaurants.

At 300 kips, this was the most awful hotel in Laos. It was dirty, full of cockroaches, and had NO wifi. The one advantage is being close to the slow boat, but there are cleaner, better places nearby for less, around 200 kips. Avoid it.

For 150000 Kip a night, it's a clean bed with clean towels and bedding, and plenty of hot water. The shower area is big and doesn't soak the toilet. They provide shampoo sachets, soap, toothbrushes and paste, in case you've lost yours. The beds are very soft, if you like that. It's two minutes from the boat dock, but the bar and restaurant right across the way can be noisy. They stayed open until midnight on the nights I was there, and most rooms open straight onto that area. There often wasn't anyone around to help; when someone was, they often spoke no European languages. That didn't bother me, but don't expect five-star service. There's also not much privacy coming and going from the room.
