The staff member was very nice and seemed unsure what to do, since he kept contacting his boss. The owner was extremely angry and shouted at us on the phone while we tried to explain that we’d already booked and paid online. They still tried to make us pay again before check-in because they hadn’t received the payment from Agoda. We showed proof many times, but they didn’t care. This went on for over an hour. Luckily, Agoda helped sort it out. It was the worst hotel service I’ve ever had, and the last thing you want after travelling all day. The room and bathroom were dirty too.

I had my receipts with me, which was lucky, because booking through Agoda made me worry I’d been scammed. For the price, the hotel was okay and did the job for a night before getting back on the slow boat.

They picked us up from the boat and dropped us back there, and the beds were comfortable. It was a brilliant stop on the slow boat trip, with a good breakfast, sandwiches made for the next day’s ride, and suggestions for local bars.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and we had lizards in the room but no mosquitoes. There’s AC and WiFi, which a lot of places around here don’t have. The food was nice too, and they can make sandwiches to take on the boat.
