Sai Ngeun 2 Hotel

I had food available throughout the day, so I didn't need to buy anything, and the best meals were dinner by the Mekong and lunch near a souvenir shop. The food and staff in laos were awesome. They don't speak much English, but they're accommodating and always seem happy. My package covered two nights, and my visa was granted on the morning of the second day. The bus ride through immigration took longer than usual, over two hours. The area where we stayed had lots of bars and restaurants.

The door wouldn't close all the way, and there was no remote for the AC. The bed had ants, the bathroom had cockroaches, and there were termites too. Stains everywhere.

I stayed for one night to do my visa. It was a decent enough hotel, and the bed was really comfortable. The room had air conditioning, a fridge, a wardrobe, water, shampoo, soap, a toothbrush and toothpaste. The bathroom sink leaked onto the floor a bit, but the shower was hot and had great pressure. Breakfast was very basic: toast, cold eggs, rice porridge and instant coffee. I think it was set out at 7 and left until breakfast ended at 9. There wasn't much within walking distance, but Foodpanda delivered there.

I stayed here while getting my non-B work visa with meesuk travel. The room was incredibly dirty and smelly. It seemed like they only changed the sheets and didn't clean the rooms. There was mold in the shower and bugs in the room, and people smoked inside. Water dripped from the air conditioner all night, and I slipped and fell in it. There was no pool; the photos advertised showed a completely different place. The food provided was cold and bland.
