Sunset Mekong Apartment

The room was really nice, with a great bed and a usable shower room, and the balcony looks out over the Mekong River. There’s a food hall next door that stays open until around 10pm, which could be noisy for some. The hotel is a bit away from town, and the area around it looks like a bomb has hit it, though the hotel itself is very good. The price felt a little high, but sharing with a friend would make it worthwhile, especially with the kitchen. It would be much more convenient if they accepted cards.

The apartment was comfortable, with a clean bathroom and the best shower we had on our whole trip. The kitchen has a great fridge, the bed was very comfortable, and there’s a huge TV. We could see and hear the live band at the big bar next door from our balcony, but when we got back around 11pm it was closed, and the nights were completely quiet, with no traffic or anything. We absolutely loved the place. If you can live with the music in the evening, it’s a great stay. Five stars even with the music says it all ;-)

The price is unbeatable, and both THB and LAK are accepted. The rooms were very clean, with a private kitchen and bathroom, and it was lovely to enjoy the quiet, natural surroundings. I booked the apartment through Agoda, but on arrival they refused to check me in. They said the rate I had booked was posted by mistake because of an error in their system, and cancelled the booking. I had to find somewhere at the last minute and ended up paying ten times the original amount. This is not a reliable place, avoid it.
