Easy go backpacker hostel

The rooftop became my favorite place, especially at sunset, with the city and mountains spread out below. I planned on just two nights but stayed seven. Khan, the owner, made it feel like home, and the price and location were both great. If you want somewhere quiet in Vangvieng with friendly staff, this is a good pick.

The rooms were decent for what we paid, and the owner was keen to help whenever she could. Best part for me was the rooftop: great views across town to the mountains, plus hot air balloons and paragliders passing by. Really fun to watch.

The four-bed room was clean, and there’s free water to refill. The location is excellent, just near the main street. I got a warm, kind welcome too. There are no towels, though. The roof terrace has a stunning view.

The atmosphere is what made this my favorite hostel in Laos. The staff are lovely, and there’s a sweet dog and the cutest kittens. The owner is great to chat with if you’re bored, and reception can help with all sorts of tours, activities, and onward travel. It’s a small, affordable place in a nice building, with a pool and a rooftop view that’s amazing. My room was clean and pleasant, and the staff cleaned the whole building every morning. There were two bathrooms and two showers for our eight-person dorm, which was handy. I’d recommend it wholeheartedly. It really felt like a home away from home.
