Champa Inn Hotel

We ended up extending our stay a few times because we were so happy here. The street is quiet, yet everything you need in town is within walking distance. Our private double room with a balcony was great value for backpackers on a budget, and it was clean with hot water in the shower. The staff were lovely, especially Adwa at reception, who made us feel welcome and helped with train tickets.

The rooms were clean, and the bathrooms were okay by my standards, but there was noise throughout, including from the AC and fans. A lot of young guests seemed unaware they were sharing with around 11 other people, and the hostel didn’t seem to make much effort to explain the house rules. I know the other guests were the source of the noise, but the overall atmosphere felt a bit cold. Staff were friendly, though they wouldn’t help me book the 40k van to the railway station, saying, “we no have.” A different hotel arranged it right away. It’s cheap and conveniently located.

There were ants on my bed when I checked in, so I asked to check out. They said they’d refund me and told me to have Agoda contact them. Agoda has been trying to reach them for three weeks without getting an answer. There were ants, no lockers, and the room was extremely cramped. Please respond to Agoda about my refund.

I really appreciated this hostel. I booked through Agoda, and the price is perfect for a backpacker budget. There are two breakfast options, and I’d recommend the upstairs bar as a quiet place to sit.
