Nirvana Archipel Resort

We found it easy to spend 2-3 days in the area. We took the boat trip with Perfect Journey to a “Secret Island,” where lunch was delicious, and also rode motorbikes around the area for views of the lake and some authentic Lao villages. The owner lets guests use kayaks on the lake, and we went out a couple of times. At Nirvana Archipel Resort, the setting is peaceful and the views are great. The rooms are basic but have what you need. Christophe was very friendly, spoke French and English fluently, and was happy to answer questions and help us. The staff were helpful too. The menu is simple, but the food was good and freshly made. They even had a special oven-baked pizza for Christmas. We really enjoyed our stay and felt comfortable. Nirvana has become one of my favorite places in Laos. The nature and lake are amazing, and the rooms are clean, inexpensive, and roomy enough. It felt like a place I could live in for a long time. The owner was great and helped us however he could, making the trip easier and better. If you get the chance, go there.

Waking up to that beautiful scenery each morning was special, and the peaceful atmosphere was perfect for recharging. The staff were genuinely welcoming and helpful from the start, making me feel like a valued friend rather than just a guest. Breakfast was another highlight, with fresh, carefully prepared choices for different tastes, whether you want something light or filling. Thanks to the whole team for such a warm stay. I’d happily return and recommend the place.

Borrowing a kayak for free was a lovely extra. I went out in the morning, and the lake was peaceful and easy to paddle. Breakfast was good too, with a generous portion. The ride from Vang Vieng is quite bumpy, but it’s definitely worth going, even on a scooter. The lakefront setting is so calm, with a stunning view. I could happily spend hours on the bungalow terrace or by the restaurant, looking at the water and playing with the dogs. In the evening, little lights make everything feel cozy and magical. The owner welcomed me warmly with his dogs. He’s a very nice French guy, and his father was there at the time, also super friendly and kind. They made my stay feel cozy. I booked a Deluxe bungalow. It was spacious and clean, with room to put things away and hang clothes. The bathroom was nice and had hot water, and the big bed had a good mattress and proper duvet.
