Such a kind owner family, and a nice location. They arranged scooters and a tuk tuk for us too.

Peaceful and private, these basic standalone bungalows sit beside the Nam Song river, and the location was just what I wanted. The host and hostess are a wonderful, kind family. Rooms were clean, hot water was plentiful, and the WiFi worked well. The bathrooms are dated but perfectly suitable. In the early evening and at night, you can watch hot air balloons and lanterns light up the sky. Noy arranged TCK zip lining and our train tickets. There are two good restaurants nearby, A.M.D. and Kiwi Kitchen. I’d definitely recommend these if you want a quieter stay in Vang Vieng.

Getting here can be a bit awkward because vehicles can’t cross the wooden bridges, and you might have to carry your bags over one. Once there, it’s a lovely family-run spot, away from the noise but still in a good location. The family are kind and can arrange activities, train tickets, motorbikes, and other things, though their English is quite basic. The rustic bungalows have the essentials, are clean and comfortable, and have good AC and a fan. Some newer ones cost a little more. I especially liked sitting by the river and relaxing over their tasty food, which was very reasonably priced. I’d come back.

The family running this guesthouse are very friendly, and it’s in a quiet, pleasant part of town. There aren’t as many restaurants nearby, but the food we tried here was good. Use the free pedestrian bridge behind Thavisouk Hotel instead of the toll bridge. For the price, the basic fan bungalow is good value. Just expect a rustic room, especially the bathroom, which could use an update.
