Silver Naga Hotel

In the evening, you step straight out the door into the night market. We had lunch at their restaurant at the back of the hotel, looking out over the river, and the breakfast had lots of variety. Lovely staff, lovely rooms, and what a view. What a treat. We’ll be back soon.

The location was great, and the reception staff were very lovely. I was otherwise happy with my stay, but the hygiene and neglected pool area brought my rating down. Fresh towels were missing on many days, the sunbeds were extremely uncomfortable, and some guests lay on towels on the concrete. The pool started crystal blue, then got greener each day until we couldn’t see the bottom by the end of the week. The cleaners weren’t very friendly, and the cleaning was disappointing. I even found nail clippings around the bathroom sink. The “gym” was basically unusable, with one treadmill, one bicycle, and a rusting multi-use machine that felt like a hazard. These seem like relatively small issues that could be easily improved.

The morning buffet was the biggest disappointment. It was standard fare, but dirt on the salad leaves completely put me off my food. For the significant price of the stay, hygiene mistakes like that shouldn’t happen. Our room, though, was excellent, very clean and modern, with a balcony and great river and mountain views. The swimming pool was under renovation while we were there.

The riverside balcony had a stunning view, with balloons in the early morning and at sunset. The dogs wandering around were actually cute. But the hotel was in bad shape and dirty, the breakfast was poor, and the location was very unpleasant. See the other reviews. The staff didn’t speak English, didn’t have information about anything, and sometimes just weren’t in the mood.
