Bloom Boutique Hotel and Cafe

We had help with our luggage up the three stairs, and the location is excellent, near Vientiane Hard Rock Cafe. We had a wonderful night there with a great live band, food, and cocktails. The room was spacious and stylish, and the firm beds were still doable. I liked that the bathroom curtain could be closed off, which also made the room darker at night. No driver could be arranged to collect us from the train station. Reception could have suggested the LOCA app, which we ended up using for taxis and found worked well. My room looked out at a blank wall. The music at breakfast was annoyingly loud, but they turned it down when we asked.

Bloom Boutique Hotel and Cafe is right in the center of Vientiane, which is great. The cafe is closed and seems to be used for storing motorcycles now, but the rooms are nice enough. It costs around 1750 baht per night with breakfast included. You have to choose breakfast the day before, which I hate.

The entrance is easy to miss, as it’s just a staircase leading up to reception on the second level. This is a small boutique hotel with only a handful of rooms. Mine was acceptable and had basic amenities. The bathroom is quite large, but the shower is open, so about half the toilet gets wet.

The location is perfect, and the rooms are clean with good air conditioning. There are no stairs alternatives, though, so you have to carry all your things on arrival and departure, up three floors if you’re on the top level. Breakfast is okay, but it only starts at 08:00 and can involve a wait when everyone wants an early start. We had no safe in our room.
