Crowne Plaza Vientiane by IHG

The hotel is a bit far from the main attractions. Loca app taxi fares aren't that cheap, and it gets too hot to walk anywhere, so keep that in mind. Still, we had a very pleasant, comfortable stay. We were lucky to get a room upgrade with diamond elite status, and the room was spacious and quiet. The hotel gym was hands down one of the best I've seen, and breakfast had a decent selection. A great choice if comfort and facilities are what you care about 🫶🏻😍

The hotel itself is excellent, and most of the service was too. The kitchen team were especially great, and the men at reception were friendly and helpful. The location is a downside, with almost nothing nearby. Service from the women at the desk was less helpful, and one woman in particular, older woman, had a really bad attitude. When I asked her to arrange a taxi, she just told me to download an app. A hotel should help guests get a taxi to the airport. While I was sitting in reception, I also noticed her cough and make faces, including rolling her eyes, whenever a non-Asian person walked past.

For what you get, the price feels fair, especially compared with the much cheaper places around. It's one of the nicest hotels in Vientiane, modern and clean, with a lovely pool, restaurant, and spa. I couldn't get a spa appointment at short notice, though. They apparently need a day or two of advance booking.

The convenient location worked really well for my business trip, and everything I needed was close at hand. At Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn, the room was spotless, the welcome was warm, and the amenities were thoughtful. The service was excellent throughout. I had an exceptional stay and definitely hope to come back soon.
