Le Charme Vientiane Hotel

The hotel was spotless, and the young front desk staff were amazing and helpful. I had two complaints. First, I was charged a small amount for printing five pages of my flight itinerary. I guess I understand the charge. Second, at checkout I was told we'd taken items from the room bar or fridge. I've stayed in probably 500 hotels and have never had anything from the room bar or fridge. It was clearly a housekeeping mistake, but I felt embarrassed because the staff kept looking at us as if we were lying. I went back to the room and showed them the trash, along with what I'd bought and what we'd used during our two-day stay. I don't drink carbonated soda, and neither does my girlfriend. Even so, this won't stop me staying here again. They just need to work on that kind of thing.

The breakfast was varied, with à la carte ordering as well as a buffet of fresh baguette, cold cuts, salad, and fresh fruit. The staff and service were the best in town, attentive and with a very good level of English. We stayed in the spacious family room, and the comfortable bed and pillows gave us a great night's sleep. One small thing to note: this was a spontaneous last-minute trip, and we forgot our toothbrush. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't have one available, though it's normally part of the amenities kit.

Breakfasts were amazing, and the restaurant downstairs had a great variety of food. The hotel is next to the night market, but it wasn't noisy. Our room was spacious, clean, and great, and the staff were friendly. The reception guys brought me an extra mattress to help with the babies. You can also get a balcony, which is great for smokers.

The beds were really comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and the attached restaurant was excellent. Everyone was so friendly, the friendliest hotel I've ever stayed at. Loved everything about it, a 5-star recommendation as a whole package.
