Peaceful 2 Hotel

The location is great, and the staff are lovely, friendly, and helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy, though the shower pressure wasn't great. There's no lift, but that wasn't a big problem for getting to our room. Just be aware that the open stairway carries sound. Good value overall.

The price is reasonable, and the staff are very friendly and give guests attentive service. The rooms aren't large, but two people can stay comfortably. There is no lift, and the highest floor is level 4, though the staff will carry your luggage up to your room.

We booked a deluxe double room more than a week ahead, but on arrival we were told there were “water system issues.” The hotel offered to move us to another place for the same price, saying the room was better and breakfast was included. Later the reception staff admitted there was no water problem, the original hotel was simply overbooked. At the other hotel, the first room we saw was larger but very dark. We checked online and found poor breakfast reviews. There was no balcony, and a leaking fridge had left a large puddle on the floor. We declined and asked for a nicer room with a balcony. The next one was even darker, with only a tiny French balcony, no view, and a noisy street outside. It felt like a classic tourist trap, so we left and booked somewhere else ourselves. Their only apology was two small bottles of water. Stay away from this property.

I had a great few days here. After taking a bus from Bangkok, I was able to check in early. The room was clean and had water and coffee facilities, with some nice restaurants and bars nearby. Thanks, I'll be back.
