ST Hotel Wattay Airport

The bed was excellent, the toiletries were very good, and the rooms felt clean, quiet, and smelled nice. I review hotels on social media, and I liked the place overall. I’d confidently recommend it. One thing to watch out for: they charged me $50 for a stained towel, so be careful with anything that could leave a mark if you don’t want to lose money.

The restaurant food was great, and breakfast was really good too. They even made me three scrambled eggs at no extra charge. The views were lovely, and the rooms are excellent value for the price. A van was waiting for me at the airport with a sign, and the front desk staff set up a taxi to the Thai embassy for me. They also offered to have another taxi sent after I was finished. Highly recommend 👍

The room and hallways were spacious and felt surprisingly luxurious, especially for a stay of only six hours. I booked because I had an early flight, and having the airport directly across from the hotel, plus a shuttle, was convenient. Still, the experience left me with a very poor impression, so I’ve dropped my rating from the three stars I first considered to one. The slippers in the room had clearly been used. There were footprints on the soles and foot-shaped indentations inside, which felt unhygienic and unpleasant even to touch. The bathroom also smelled strongly of sewage and had no conditioner. For a place officially rated four stars, that was disappointing. Thin walls meant I kept hearing conversations and other noise from neighboring and upstairs rooms, so it was hard to relax or sleep. At checkout, staff had us wait while they checked the room, then said a plastic laundry bag was missing and asked us to return it. I’ve never been asked to bring back a disposable laundry bag at a hotel, and it was uncomfortable to be treated as if we’d taken something improperly. Are the laundry bags collected from guests reused like the slippers? Our deposit also wasn’t returned at checkout. We noticed only after leaving, then had to go back for it, which was a hassle.

The internet was average at best. Websites loaded, but streaming was out of the question. The room was VERY nice, and I had three really positive experiences with the staff during my short stay, so I feel compelled to give it five stars.
