The restaurant service was the worst part of our stay. We ordered two beef steaks and got one pork instead. They didn't understand when we asked for a replacement, so I had to explain with a lot of hand gestures. Clearing our plates took an hour, even though we were the only two diners. They also forgot our dessert twice, and it took two hours to arrive. We were killing time before our flight, so the wait itself wasn't a huge deal, but the staff didn't seem to care and nobody apologized. I know not everyone can speak English, but even the hotel staff couldn't understand us. Our room was noisy enough to keep us awake. We could hear the night market across the street, which ran until midnight, as well as passing cars and motorbikes. It sounded as if the windows were open. For our second night we asked to move to a much smaller room at the back, and it was a lot quieter. The bathroom could have been cleaner, and the bedding was starting to look grey. The lobby has an unusual look, with lots of wooden Hindu and Buddhist carvings, and the location was okay. Breakfast was included and served at the restaurant next door, which is also owned by the hotel. It was an omelette with a chicken sausage, a slice of ham, lettuce, and tomato.

The rooms at the back seem quieter, while my deluxe room faced both the busy road and night market. BorPenNyang bar is nearby and stays open until 1am. My room itself was nicely decorated in an old colonial style, with carved wooden furniture, a balcony, and views of the Mekong. The hotel exterior looks faded and the windows were dirty, though the interior has charm. Reception was okay, but the place needs upkeep: the bathroom was damaged, the bedding had holes, the electrical outlets weren't secured well, and the windows wouldn't slide. WiFi on the 4th floor was very hit or miss.

Good value for the price, and a lovely hotel overlooking the Mekong and night market if you get a room on the right side :-)

A decent stay in a good spot, though the elevator was out of order and the balcony could've been cleaner.

The rooms have an appealing old-fashioned look, and the location and prices are good. The restaurant was good too, with attentive staff.
