Tera Hotel Vientiane

We ordered the duck and were glad we did. It was delicious and came without a long wait. The beer was cold, and we were happy with everything.

We paid $40 USD per night for a very nice, clean and spacious room. The shower had good pressure and hot water, and the glass divider was wide enough to keep the floor from getting soaked. The elevator and AC both worked, and there were outlets by the bed. The gym was okay, though one day someone had left the windows cracked and it was full of mosquitoes. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked nice, even though it’s covered. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay, with some Western and Asian options. Room service and the hotel food were quite good and reasonably priced. My wife and I enjoyed our time here, and I’d return if I had reason to visit Vientiane again.

It’s a good-looking hotel with a pool and gym, but we left after just one night because it was so noisy. The window was damaged and wouldn’t close, and the walls were so thin we could hear the neighbours snoring and more. People kept banging doors, and it jolted us awake in bed. There was no way to get a good, restful night, and management showed no interest in finding a solution. Too expensive for this.

I felt spoiled here and got hooked. It’s a modern hotel with large rooms, modern furniture and toiletries, great facilities, and very good service. The fitness centre is the best I’ve used in Laos that’s included with a hotel. Breakfast had loads of food, desserts and drinks, and the staff were outstanding and understood English. Laundry came back fresh, folded and organized. Hotel food service was good, though a bit pricey, as you’d expect at a hotel. They offer local transport by cart, but you can also take a bike. Cycling around the city was a nice way to explore. I could spend the whole day here without going out. I’d recommend it to anyone, and I don’t think I could stay at another hotel for such a great price.
