La Siesta Beach Resort

We were about to book, but were told my hijabi wife couldn't use the pool or beach because burkinis and modest swimwear aren't allowed. It's honestly shocking and very disappointing to see this policy in Lebanon.

If you want a quieter spot, try the small pool on the left, it's much more peaceful than the main one. La Siesta is clean and calm, with access to both the beach and pool. The staff are welcoming, and the food is decent and fairly priced. It's about 12 km south of Beirut. The drive is usually easy in the morning, though weekends can be a little crowded. Nothing too bad if you arrive early. Rated 3.9/5. Close to the city and nice for a relaxed beach day, just get there early for the best spot.

It's a shame that access is granted or denied based on what someone wears. They say only international swimwear, meaning a bikini, is allowed. So shorts aren't acceptable, and a hijabi visitor would be turned away. I've traveled around the world, including first-class countries, and seen respect for different clothing and religions. What kind of racist facility is this? For a resort aiming to compete at a higher level, this is a disgrace, honestly. It's surprising to find such strict beach clothing rules in a third-world country.

The location has the best view, and the old beach is easy to get to and renovated. You can smell the sea, but the prices are very expensive ……!!
